Adult & Community Education Scholarship aka Star Scholarship
Criteria: available to all graduating Wayne County high school seniors that wish to continue their education in a WCSCC Adult Education program. Applicant must complete requirements to be accepted into a full-time medical, industrial or office program.

Benjamin E. Moody Scholarship
Criteria: Available to a student who has graduated from a Wayne County high school or has lived in Wayne County for five years. The student must be following a course of study in law enforcement. The recipient of this scholarship will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, good citizenship and financial need. Complete the Wayne County Community Foundation application for this scholarship.

Don & Teara Buren Scholarship
Criteria: Available to graduating or graduated high school students attending Congress Community Church located at 10691 Franchester Rd., West Salem, Ohio. Applicant should demonstrate a balance among: academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.75/4.00 for high school or 3.50/4.00 for college), participation in extra-curricular activities, and demonstrated community service and/or part-time employment. Preference will be given to those with the greatest financial need. If no eligible students from Congress Community Church qualify, then the scholarship will be available to any Northwestern High School graduating senior, based on the criteria listed above. Past recipients may re-apply, up to a maximum of four years. These applications will be included in the pool of candidates for the current year's selection process. How We Hear Scholarship
Criteria: This scholarship is available to any Wayne County high school senior that plans to pursue a career in education, speech-language pathology, or audiology. Preference shall be given to students pursuing a career in audiology or speech-language pathology. This scholarship is provided by Ava Martinez, a 2021 graduate of Dalton High School who has dealt with the challenges of Auditory Processing Disorder throughout her life. This scholarship is available on Going Merry. You need to create an account and complete a profile section which matches you with scholarship opportunities.

Kenneth Black Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Candidates must pursue a career in Education (K-12) and must be accepted by the college or university of his/her choice as a full-time student. Academic qualifications will be the primary basis of selection. Financial need will be used only as a basis of selection among equally qualified nominees. A high school transcript and resume should be attached that includes SAT or ACT test scores. All materials must be submitted to your school counselor.

Criteria: Preference given individuals who, either by past experience, current position or future plans, demonstrate potential for contributing to the medical practice management process. Criteria: Residents of Wayne County who are full-time students pursuing a bachelor’s or associate’s degree. Strongly favor those students entering the area of speech and hearing but scholarships are not limited to only those entering that field. Those interested in a career in medicine, counseling, social work or special education are also considered. Must have financial need and good academic performance. Can be new students admitted to an accredited college or adults returning to college.

Excelled academically with an overall minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (based on a maximum of 4.0) or its equivalent.
