Bryan Williams Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior athletes planning to attend a two or four-year accredited college. Must have a 3.00 GPA or higher and have participated in at least 2 varsity sports.

Term: one year

Amount: $1,200 each ($600 per semester)

Number of Awards: 2 (1 male/1 female)

 

Dale & Joanne Widmer Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: This scholarship is available to current graduating seniors of Rittman High School who may have been overlooked as scholarship candidates, but have shown continued improvement, increased self-confidence, and motivation to succeed in a college, university, technical school environment or apprenticeship program. Candidates should also demonstrate a desire to promote the welfare of others through community service. Special consideration will be given to students pursuing careers in Auto Technology, Business, Communications, Education, Hospitality, and the HealthCare Field.

Marion C. & Robert E. Bodager Scholarship Recognizing Outstanding Academic Performance & Community Service

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a four year accredited college. Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. Special consideration given to volunteer activities and how the student has contributed to the community.

Term: one year

Amount: $1,000

Rittman Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a four-year accredited college. Must have a GPA above 3.00, be interested in pursuing a business or related field of study, display philanthropic attributes, demonstrate leadership abilities, and most importantly, exhibit work ethic characteristics.

Term: one year

Amount: $500

Rittman Education Association (REA) Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a two or four-year accredited college. Based on academic achievement, participation in student and community extracurricular activities, citizenship
and character, career interest, and financial need. Education and other helping professions will be given priority.

Term: one year

Rittman Moose Lodge #860 Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a two or four-year accredited college who has a 2.50 cumulative GPA or better and community involvement.

Term: one year

Rittman PTO Scholarship

Criteria: RHS senior planning to attend a two or four-year accredited college. Based on financial need, academic ability, career interest, citizenship, and character.

Term: one year

William P. & Ethel Jo Hayduk Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a four year accredited college. Student must have at least a 3.8 GPA or higher (preferably a 4.0 GPA), show financial need, be pursuing a degree in engineering or an engineering related field and display good work ethic, character, and decision making.

Term: one year

Amount: $2,500

Rittman Moose Lodge 860 Trade Scholarship

Criteria: Available to Rittman High School seniors that have shown motivation to continue to succeed at a higher level such as a technical school, apprenticeship program, or 2-4 year college. Special consideration will be given to those choosing a career in the trades.

Wayne County Community Foundation Scholarships

Ed and Karen Sims Scholarship

Criteria: Available to current Rittman High School graduating seniors who have attended RHS all four years. Applicants must have participated in the RHS Marching and Concert Band(s) all four years of high school, maintaining a minimum of a "B" in every semester of band for all four years, be in the top 50% of their graduating class, and plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university. Previous recipients majoring in music (education, performance, or composition) who have maintained a 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale may reapply.

Eugene A. Sharick Music Scholarship

Criteria: RHS senior planning to study music in preparation for a career of professional performance or teaching. Minimum of two years of music at RHS and accepted to an accredited university or college.

Term: renewable, up to four years

Amount: $4,000 ($1,000 per year)

Number of Awards: 2

 

Frances Gerberich Schoolroy Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior, preferably female, with financial need and good scholarship and character. Must be a full-time student.

Term: four years

Amount: $12,000 ($3,000 per year)

Friendship Award

Criteria: RHS senior who has provided service to the community through friendship, cooperation, and unity of endeavor; a scholarship will also be given to the nominating student. Students must write an essay about why they nominated the student and how they demonstrated friendship to them. For more information, see Mr. Evans.

Amount: $480 nominee; $120 nominating student

John Hodovan Scholarship

Criteria: RHS senior exemplifying the standards utilized fo Buckeye Boys or Girls State.

Term: one year

Rittman Masonic & Eastern Star Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior planning to attend a two or four-year accredited college who has financial need and has a 2.50 GPA or better.

Term: renewable, up to four years

Amount: $3,600 ($900 per year)

Roger & Evelyn Hessidence and Family Scholarship

Criteria: Rittman High School senior with a minimum 3.00 GPA, who has demonstrated outstanding academic character, community involvement, and has been accepted at a four-year college or university.

Term: one year

Amount: $2,500

Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Medical Staff Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior of Rittman High School who has a minimum 3.20 GPA, on a 4.00 scale, and be enrolled or enrolling as a full-time student at a four-year educational institution, pursuing a field of study in the medical, nursing, or health services profession.

Term: one year

Amount: $3,000
