The 2014-2015 Rittman High School Scholarship Booklet is coming soon.  Hard copies of the booklet will be mailed to every senior’s home over winter break.  The application will be available on January 6th in Mrs. Chipps' office.  Students must sign for the application and once the completed application is turned in they can pick up recommendation forms.  Click here to view the scholarship booklet.

AES Engineers Scholarship - award is $500. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character as determined by evaluating submitted essays.  Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?  Essays must be submitted to: scholarships @ aesengineers.com. Amici Italiani Scholarships - provides financial assistance to students attending post-secondary schools in pursuit of their career and educational goals. The scholarship is based on merit and academic promise, not financial need. Although preference is given to applicants of Italian heritage, anyone may apply. Aspiring Animation Professional - one $1,000 scholarship that will be to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. The scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who intends to an animation related field at an accredited post-secondary school or college, has a demonstrable records of academic success, and has a passion and drive for an animation and/or design related career. Aspiring Fashion Professional - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Select the link for more information and an application. Deadline:  June 1, 2015

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program - up to $25,000 per year to 50 first time or existing college students renewable up to four years and one additional year for those entering a qualified five-year engineering program. Cavaliers/First Merit Scholarship Program - 10 $2,000 scholarships will be awarded for the 2015-2016 academic year. East Central Ohio Mensa (ECOM) - one $2,000 scholarship in the local area. Qualified entries from the local area will complete for amounts up to $1,000 regionally and nationally. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need, Mensa Foundation scholarships are based on essays (up to 550 words) written by applicants. Health Care Professions Scholarship - $1,000 awarded annually.  For details, requirements, and an application, click hereDeadline:  November 17, 2014.

James Kura Memorial Scholarship Contest - three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who will be attending a four year accredited college. Student's must submit an application and a 2-page essay based on the question on the application. Select the link for more information and an application. Deadline: March 10, 2015

Kenneth Black Memorial Scholarship - One scholarship awarded annually. Amount to be determined. Candidates must pursue a career in Education (K-12) and must be accepted by the college or university of  his/her choice as a full-time student. Academic qualifications will be the primary basis of selection.  Financial need will be used only as basis of selection among equally qualified nominees. A high school transcript and resume should be attached that includes PSAT, SAT, or ACT test scores. All materials must be submitted to your school counselor. Lester Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant - a $1,000 book grant will be awarded to a student who is pursing a degree in education and attending an accredited Ohio college. The selection criteria includes: applicant must be a graduating senior currently enrolled in a school district in the Northeast Region of the Ohio School Boards Association, and have plans to major in teacher education at an accredited college or university in the state of Ohio, has a 3.0 or greater GPA, demonstrates potential as an educational leader and competent professional, they must demonstrate community involvement and have evidence of good character, as well as, demonstrate a financial need. OAPSE Memorial Scholarship Foundation  - available to any graduating high school senior whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO) and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two or four year accredited university, college, buiness or technical school. The scholarships may be used for any field of study. One scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded to winners selected from the applicants who meet the eligibility requirements. Ohio Assoication of Career Colleges & Schools Legislative Scholarship Program - there are over 220 scholarships available ranging from $2,000 - $44,000. These scholarships are available for Ohio high school graduates of the 2015 academic year. Ohio Newspapers Foundation Minority Journalism Scholarship - one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to an Ohio high school senior planning to major in journalism, advertising, marketing, communications or another related field. Ohio Township Association Scholarships  - three $1,500 scholarships are being offered. One Academic Achievement Scholarship will be awarded and two Local Government Achievement Scholarships. Applicants are eligible for both, but may only be awarded one scholarship. If applying for both scholarships, materials must be submitted in separate envelopes. Eligibility: student must have at least a B average (cumulative) and attain a 22 ACT or 1000 SAT score. To be eligible for the Local Government Achievement Scholarship, you must be able to demonstrate outstanding citizenship through service and participation in community activites. Quota International of Wooster Scholarship -  individuals must be a resident of Wayne County, expect to be a full-time student within five months of receiving the award, pursing a degree at an accredited college (no less than an associate degree or similar vocational post-secondary course of training at an accredited institution), and admitted to an accredited college or university. The Clinton E. Missler Agri-Scholarship - Awarded annually to a current resident of Wayne County who is furthering his/her education in agriculture, farm economics, animal husbandry, animal nutrition & research, or soil & water conservation. The applicant must submit a high school transcript, college aptitude test results (if available), and a statement of 300 words or less stating why the applicant feels he/she should be considered for the scholarship. The Edward, Arlene, & Kaye Maibach Wayne County Scholarship - one or more minimum $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Wayne County seniors enrolled in college on a full-time basis (12 or more credit hours), have a 3.0 GPA, and financial need. The William D. Squires Educational Foundation Scholarships - 15 scholarships are being offered to Ohio seniors for $3,000 per year and is renewable up to $12,000. Victor Gerer Memorial Music Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be granted a a senior graduating form a Wayne County high school that demonstrates academic achievement, participation in music activities and leadership, and who will begin post-secondary education in the fall of 2015. Applicants are required to complete an application form, an essay response, provide a letter of recommendation from a school music teacher or private instructor, and provide an official transcript. Wace National Co-Op Scholarship Program - they award 195 merit scholarhsips totalig $4.7 million to students admitted to one of the elven Insitutions the participate in the program. Wayne County Farm Bureau Scholarship - one (1) scholarship of $2,000; one (1)  scholarship of $1,500; three (3) scholarships of $1,000 each and two (2) scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:  a memeber or dependent of a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau at the time of application, be in their senior year, plan to further their education in one of the following fields: Agriculture, Horticulture, Farm Economics, Animal Husbandry, Soil & Water Conservation or Forestry. Women's Network/Judith Resnik Scholarship - a $1,000 scholarshp will be awarded to a young woman graduating from a public or private high school in Summit, Stark, Portage, Wayne, or Medina County. It is for a student accepted into a bachelor's degree program in science, engineering, or mathematics at an accredit university. Applicatnts must have a cumulatvie GPA of 3.0 or higher.
