AAA School Safety Patrol Grant - ten $1,000 grants will be awarded to high school seniors who once served as a member of the AAA School Safety Patrol. Students must complete an application and write a minimum 500 word, double-spaced essay, provide a high school transcript and a letter of recommendation.Finalists will be chosen for a phone interview. AES Engineers Scholarship - award is $500. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character as determined by evaluating submitted essays.  Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question: When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?  What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?  Essays must be submitted to: scholarships @ aesengineers.com. Alpha Theta Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior or currently-enrolled graduate pursuing a career in education. Selection is based on academic and attendance records of the candidates, on economic need, and on the likelihood of successful completion of a teacher licensure program. American Association of Drilling Engineers Appalachian Chapter Scholarship - twenty (20) $1,000 scholarships. Upon completion of freshman year, students will become eligible to apply for one of three planned $2,000 annual scholarships which may be in effect for the remaining three years of college. The total potential aid could be $7,000 over 4 years. To qualify candidates must meet the following criteria: graduate from high school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, scores a minimum 27 on the ACT, be enrolled in an accredited college in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia, be a US citizen and submit a fully completed and signed AADE Scholarship Application. America's Farmers Grow AG Leaders - is offering a $1,500 scholarship. Students must seek two farmer endorsements of their application. Applicants are not required to be an FFA member. Select the link for more information and to apply.   Deadline:  January 15

Amici Italiani Scholarships - provides financial assistance to students attending post-secondary schools in pursuit of their career and educational goals. The scholarship is based on merit and academic promise, not financial need. Although preference is given to applicants of Italian heritage, anyone may apply. Ashland County Pilot's Association - Leo K. Heyl Memorial Scholarship - one scholarship will be awarded; the award varies.  The scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria: current year graduate of any high school neighboring Ashland county, 2.5 GPA, accepted to an accredited two or four year college/university, and majoring in a field related to Aviation preferred. Aspiring Animation Professional - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student interested in pursuing an animation related degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline: June 1

Aspiring Business Professional - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students interested in pursing a business degree at any accredited post-secondary school or college. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline: June 1

Aspiring Fashion Professional - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline:  June 1

Buick Achievers Scholarship Program - up to $25,000 per year to 50 first time or existing college students renewable up to four years and one additional year for those entering a qualified five-year engineering program. Burger King Scholars - up to $50,000 in scholarship awards. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, work experience and community involvement. Select the appropriate link for more information on eligibility and to apply.  Deadline: December 15

Cavaliers/First Merit Scholarship Program - 10 $2,000 scholarships will be awarded. Students must submit a 500 word essay, perform a high level of service in their community, provide a high school transcript, ACT scores, and one letter of recommendation. Graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue a post-high school education interested in applying for this scholarship, please review the rules and complete the application. Charles L. Warren Scholarship - a one-time $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to several outstanding high school seniors and may be used at any Ohio college or university. Students from underrepresented populations with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and who are in college preparatory curriculum are eligible to compete.Please select the link to get more information and an application.          Deadline: February 12

Consumers National Bank Homer Unkefer Agriculture Scholarship - two $1,000 scholarships. Students can apply every year and may receive a scholarship for a maximum of four years. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students pursuing a higher level of education which will help them prepare for a career in agriculture. Corban Gunn, Attorney at Law, Scholarship - one$1,000 scholarship. Applicants must be planning to attend their first year of an undergraduate program, have a US mailing address and living in the US to receive scholarship funds. DiTrapano, Barrett, DiPiero, McGinley & Simmons, PLLC $1,000 Scholarship -  one $1,000 scholarship. Applicatnts must be planning to attend their first year of college in the US, must be living in the US (with a US mailing address), and show proof that you are in your first year. East Central Ohio Mensa (ECOM) - one $2,000 scholarship in the local area. Qualified entries from the local area will compete for amounts up to $1,000 regionally and nationally. Consideration is not given to grades, academic program or financial need. Mensa Foundation scholarships are based on essays (up to 550 words) written by applicants describing their career, vocational, or academic goals. Judging will emphasize a goal statement that includes specific information on experience or steps taken toward the goal, persuasiveness (e.g., how your past achievements and experiences and your future planning lead toward achieving your goal), why you think that you will succeed, as well as, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ella Weiss Education Fund - one $1,000-$1,500 renewable scholarship (student must reapply each year). For criteria and an application, select the following link.  Deadline: May 31

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Outstanding Senior High Youth Award - one (1) $500 award for the state winner. The state winner is forwarded to the ESA Outstanding Youth Chair and committee for review and determination of the winner of a $1,000 scholarship. Facing Acne Scholarship - one (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. The scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria: 1) US Citizen 2) Currently enrolled as a high school senior 3) will receive their high school diploma before the 2020-2021 school year begins 4) have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award - one $500 scholarship will be awarded to one student from Wayne county. Applicant must be a high school senior, the student must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by high school grades, test scores and awards. Future Nurse Leadership Scholarship - one $500 scholarship for students entering into a BSN program. Please select the link for more information and an application.    Deadline: April 2

GNGF Scholarship - a $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one student enrolled in a two-year or five-year institution in 2017 in Kentucky or Ohio. To apply, students must create a short (2-3 minute) video or write a 1000 word essay talking about one of the following things: 1.) explain why you do not support or promote distracted driving (ex. driving while texting or drinking) 2.) explain how you prevent distracted driving and promote safe driving practices for yourself, friends, or family by providing specific examples. The video and essay should also indicate how this scholarship will help you achieve your educational goals. Students should upload the video to YouTube, fill out the application and include a link to the video on YouTube or submit their essay through the application. Groth & Associates Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarshp to be awarded. Student must have a GPA of 3.0+, fill out a form with your contact information, provide a school transcript and write a 500 word essay about difficulties or harships you have had to personally overcome. James Kura Memorial Scholarship Contest - three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who will be attending a four year accredited college. Student's must submit an application and a 2-page essay based on the question on the application. Select the link for more information and an application. Deadline: March 15

Joan Lance Houglan Scholarship for Aspiring Educators - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a resident of Wayne, Holmes or Medina Counties who are pursing a career in the field of education. First preference is given to single parents with custodial or child support responsibilities of one or more minor children. In lieu of qualified applicants meeting this criterion, other need based exigent circumstances may be considered. Special consideration will be given to qualified applicants interested in specializing in teaching children with learning disabilities, emotional or behavior disorders, or other impediments to learning. Junior Achievement Scholarship - award amounts range from $1,000 - $3,000. Selection criteria: 12th grade student in counties listed (see link), participation in at least one Junior Achievement program at any grade level K-12, demonstrated enthusiasm for work readiness, entrepreneurship, or a specific career pathway as a result of participation through JA, GPA of 2.8 or above, demonstration that JA was instrumental in your educational development and the ability to succeed in college or career pathway. Kenneth Black Memorial Scholarship - One scholarship awarded annually. Amount to be determined. Candidates must pursue a career in Education (K-12) and must be accepted by the college or university of  his/her choice as a full-time student. Academic qualifications will be the primary basis of selection.  Financial need will be used only as basis of selection among equally qualified nominees. A high school transcript and resume should be attached that includes PSAT, SAT, or ACT test scores. All materials must be submitted to your school counselor. Lamplighters Italian-American Organization Scholarship - two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating students who are of Italian heritage, have a family member who is a member of Lamplighters Social Club or are interested in a course of study involving Italian culture, language, history or heritage. Lester Marrison Teacher Education Book Grant - a $1,000 book grant will be awarded to a student who is pursing a degree in education and attending an accredited Ohio college. The selection criteria includes: applicant must be a graduating senior currently enrolled in a school district in the Northeast Region of the Ohio School Boards Association, and have plans to major in teacher education at an accredited college or university in the state of Ohio, has a 3.0 or greater GPA, demonstrates potential as an educational leader and competent professional, they must demonstrate community involvement and have evidence of good character, as well as, demonstrate a financial need. Levy Law Offices Cincinnati Safe Driver Scholarship - one $2,500 scholarship. Student must be a high school senior in Ohio or Kentucky or a college student enrolled in a two to five-year institution in Ohio or Kentucky. Find more information here.       Deadline: March 30

Lila M. Van Sweringen Student Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an individual who wishes to pursue an office related career. The scholarship is open to all Ohio students who attend Ohio high schools and will be attending a post-secondary institution during 2016-2017 academic year. Mark W. Carrabine Memorial Math Award - $1,000 will be awarded to a student who graduated from a Wayne County, Ohio high school that excels in the field of mathematics. Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Competition - To be determined. Mensa awards more than $87,000 a year in scholarships. Requirements: 1.) the applicant must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date, and 2) they must submit an application and essay explaining his or her career, academic and/or vocational goals. North Central Ohio Ohio Contractors Association Scholarship - will present up to $1,500, in increments of $500 or $750, in scholarship awards for 2016. Candidates will be graduating high school in the spring of 2016 and have plans to continue their education through a 2 or 4 year Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study in the construction industry. Nurse.org Healthcare Leaders Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student entering or currently pursing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. OAPSE Memorial Scholarship Foundation  - available to any graduating high school senior whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE/AFSCME Local 4/AFL-CIO) and who intends to enroll in a full-time degree program in any two or four year accredited university, college, business or technical school. The scholarships may be used for any field of study. One scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded to winners selected from the applicants who meet the eligibility requirements. Ohio Association of Career Colleges & Schools OhioLEADS! Scholarship Program - there are over 130 scholarships available ranging from $1,500 - $40,000. These scholarships are available for Ohio high school graduates of the 2016-2017 academic year. Ohio Chapter Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. Student must be an Ohio resident and be enrolled in the twelfth grade. Select the link for more information and an application.  Deadline: March 27

Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Foundation - $1,000 annual scholarship which may be renewed up to three additional years. Scholarships are limited to undergraduate college studies, technical or trade school programs. Criteria: must be a US citizen or legal resident, must have a career goal in the crude oil and natural gas industry, or related energy field, must be an Ohio resident attending or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical, or trade school and must have and maitain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Ohio JCI Senate Charitable and Education Foundation Scholarship - there are two categories to choose from: Category 1 is academic based and Category 2 is need based. Applicants can only submit an application in one category. You must mark which category you wished to have your application judged. There are two academic based scholarships: 1st place is $1,000 and 2nd place is $1,000. There are three (3) need based scholarships. Each winner will received $1,000. Ohio-Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools Leads! Scholarship - they offer over 185 scholarships for graduating high school sneiors. These scholarships range in value from $500 - $8,000 and available to Ohio and Michigan high school seniors. Ohio Newspapers Foundation Minority Journalism Scholarship - one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to an Ohio high school senior planning to major in journalism, advertising, marketing, communications or another related field. Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) - $1,000 annual scholarship which may be renewed up to four years. Scholarships are limited to undergraduate studies. Criteria includes: you must be a U.S. citizen, must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry, must be an Ohio resident or attending or planning to attend an accredited Ohio college, university, technical or trade school, and you must have and maintain a gpa of 2.5 or higher. Ohio Township Association Scholarships  - three $1,500 scholarships are being offered. One Academic Achievement Scholarship will be awarded and two Local Government Achievement Scholarships. Applicants are eligible for both, but may only be awarded one scholarship. If applying for both scholarships, materials must be submitted in separate envelopes. Eligibility: student must have at least a B average (cumulative) and attain a 22 ACT or 1000 SAT score. To be eligible for the Local Government Achievement Scholarship, you must be able to demonstrate outstanding citizenship through service and participation in community activities. Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship Program - two (2) $500 scholarships are being offered to students who are prospective educators in North Central Ohio high schools. Student's must submit a complete application consisting of a goals statement (must be at least 100 words), a reference letter and a transcript. Quota International of Wooster Scholarship -  individuals must be a resident of Wayne County, expect to be a full-time student within five months of receiving the award, pursing a degree at an accredited college (no less than an associate degree or similar vocational post-secondary course of training at an accredited institution), and admitted to an accredited college or university. Robert A. Klingler Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship awarded to a high school student pursing a college education at a two-year to five-year school. Student must write an essay that is 500-1,000 words describing one thing you would change about this world if you could and how you would do it, submit your application along with your essay for consideration. Rove Pest Control Scholarship - one $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student staring college in the fall of 2017 and has a minimum 3.0 GPA. Please review the link for more information and the application.    Deadline: December 31

Sean Carmichael Memorial Scholarship - one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a Wayne County senior baseball player. Student must embody the leadership and characteristics of Coach Carmichael, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, two (2) year varsity letter in baseball, and academic and athletic excellence. Slater & Zurz Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. To be eligible, a student must be a high school senior who will be graduating at the end of this school year and who will be attending a college or university located in Ohio. The scholarship will be reviewed and awarded based on the preparation of a brief YouTube video along with an accompanying written essay. Select the link for more information.  Deadline: March 31

Solomon Law Group Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be planning to attend their first year of college, provide acceptance letter on the college's letterhead, student must be going to school in the U.S. and have a U.S. mailing address and provide a 500+ word essay answering the following question: "How can we better utilize popular entertainment and media (movies, TV shows, oline media, video games, etc.) to educate the general public about vital issues?" The Clinton E. Missler Agri-Scholarship - Awarded annually to a current resident of Wayne County who is furthering his/her education in agriculture, farm economics, animal husbandry, animal nutrition & research, or soil & water conservation. The applicant must submit a high school transcript, college aptitude test results (if available), and a statement of 300 words or less stating why the applicant feels he/she should be considered for the scholarship. The Edward, Arlene, & Kaye Maibach Wayne County Scholarship - one or more minimum $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Wayne County seniors enrolled in college on a full-time basis (12 or more credit hours), have a 3.0 GPA, and financial need. Applicants must submit an essay not to exceed 300 words stating why you should be considered for the scholarship. Select the link for an application.  Deadline: March 16

The William D. Squires Educational Foundation Scholarships - 15 scholarships are being offered to Ohio seniors for $4,000 per year and is renewable up to $16,000. The scholarship is primarily need-based. Students must include their complete Student Aid Report (SAR) from FAFSA, a transcript which includes senior year 1st semester, 2 letters of recommendation, and a single page essay along with their notarized application. United Energy Workers Healthcare EEOICPA Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. The scholarship is for college students, but seniors are invited to apply. Select the link for more information.  Deadline: July 31

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest - $1,000 monthly scholarship contest in which students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is chosen to receive the $1,000 scholarship. Vertical Runner Wooster Running Club Scholarship - two $750 scholarships will be awarded to eligible graduation seniors. One male & one female athlete will be chosen. Select the link for eligibility information and an application. Deadline: May 8

Victor Gerber Memorial Music Scholarship - one $1,000 scholarship will be granted a a senior graduating from a Wayne County high school that demonstrates academic achievement, participation in music activities and leadership, and who will begin post-secondary education in the fall of 2020. Applicants are required to complete an application form, an essay response, provide a letter of recommendation from a school music teacher or private instructor, and provide an official transcript. Wace National Co-Op Scholarship Program - they award 160 merit scholarships totaling $4.2 million to students admitted to one of the ten Institutions that participate in the program. Wayne County Community Federal Credit Union Scholarship - two $500 scholarships will be awarded to 2020 grauates. Wayne County Farm Bureau Scholarship - is awarding up to $5,000 in scholarships to high school seniors. Students must meet the following criteria:  a resident of Ohio and a member or your parents are a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau. Wolterman Law Office LPA Hope For The Future Scholarship - one $1,500 scholarship will be awarded. This scholarship is for current college students or high school seniors, so it applies to both the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school year. Select the link for more information. Deadline: May 6

Women's Network/Judith Resnik Scholarship - a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a young woman graduating from a public or private high school in Summit, Stark, Portage, Wayne, or Medina County. It is for a student accepted into a bachelor's degree program in science, engineering, or mathematics at an accredit university. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
