In the Rittman EVSD students are our first priority. Our purpose in the curriculum department is to create a learning environment that:
helps all students meet or exceed state standards
provides responsive and appropriate intervention
promotes student leadership
encourages meaningful parent and community involvement
provides real world learning experiences
respects individual and cultural differences
provides a rigorous student-centered curriculum
Although the State of Ohio Academic Content Standards serve as the foundational basis for the curriculum, we strive to deepen student understanding by incorporating content and skills that best prepare students for the 21st century. The Standards Guides for Families highlight skills your child should know and be able to do at each grade level.
The Curriculum Department of the Rittman EVSD is responsible for the management and development of K-12 curriculum, the selection and purchasing of textbooks and educational materials, staff development, testing and assessments, student achievement and progress, and other curriculum related services.
